Troy Williams is the Chief Operating Officer for KIPP Atlanta Schools where he oversees state and local compliance requirements, custodial services, health services, facilities, safety, school nutrition, technology services, and enrollment.
Troy’s journey into public education began with the Broad Residency in Urban Public Education, driven by his passion for making a positive impact in education. Over the past 15 years, Troy has held various leadership roles in urban public school districts, always striving to provide efficient and effective operations support. His work ensures that administrators, teachers, and scholars can focus on what matters most—teaching and learning.
Troy has held various positions in Operations, including Deputy Chief Operating Officer at Atlanta Public Schools, Chief Operating Officer at Birmingham City Schools, Chief Operating Officer for the Achievement School District in Tennessee, and Executive Director of Operations at Charleston County School District. Troy holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and has honed his expertise through roles at General Electric and Walmart prior to his journey in education.
