Patrick Ashley

Dr. Patrick Ashley currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer for KIPP DC Public Charter Schools where he is responsible for the financial management for the District of Columbia’s largest public charter school, serving approximately 7,500 students across 20 schools.
Prior to his time at KIPP DC, Patrick served as a Deputy Chancellor at the District of Columbia Public Schools where he was responsible for the non-academic operations of the school system. In this capacity, Patrick championed increased financial transparency and process-driven improvements to remove barriers to teaching and learning. Patrick joined the District government as a Senior Deputy Director at the DC Department of Health (DC Health). Most notably, in this role, Patrick was responsible for the implementation of the health and medical response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which was nationally recognized for its effectiveness in addressing community inequities, and the Mpox response. Prior to his role at DC Health, Patrick served in senior positions at the Virginia Department of Health and the Northern Virginia Emergency Response System.
Originally from Richmond, Virginia, Patrick lives in Washington, DC and holds a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, a Master of Science from Eastern Kentucky University, a Master of Business Administration from Louisiana State University Shreveport and a Doctorate of Law and Policy from Northeastern University.
