Over the past 20 years, Missy has served in non profit leadership roles in New York City and now Atlanta. In 2007, Missy became President of AIESEC United States, an organization that facilitates a work exchange program for college students across 105 countries. During her tenure, she increased both incoming and outgoing exchange opportunities across the United States and led the organization through an expansion to launch AIESEC Bahrain, AIESEC Qatar and AIESEC Oman.
In 2012 Missy became Vice President of US Programs for buildOn where she led a team of 52 staff to grow programming by 30% across 7 states. She also empowered a group of high school students in the south Bronx to become the first student group in the organization’s history to raise enough money to travel to and build a school in Mali, West Africa. Through her time with AIESEC and buildOn, Missy worked in over 25 countries.
Following the birth of her first daughter, Missy joined Harboring Hearts in 2015 as the organization’s first Executive Director. For 7 years, under Missy’s leadership, Harboring Hearts raised over 4 million dollars, expanded from 5 partner hospitals to 8, and increased the number of patients and families served from 50 families to over 300 families annually. Missy now serves in the role of Director of Operations/CFO for Amana Academy, a STEM certified public charter school network with locations in Alpharetta, GA and Smyrna, GA. In addition, Missy sits on the Board of Directors for The Sonder Project, an international non profit that builds water pumps in Africa. Over her 20-year non-profit career, Missy has focused on streamlining operations and developing strategic innovative programming that has transformed the organizations she has been part of. Now residing in Alpharetta, GA, Missy enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and 5 children.
