Katie Kohn serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Urban Community School, leading the organization's work across a variety of functions including talent strategy and development, culture and engagement, human resources, food service, facilities management, transportation, and security.

She began her career as a high school English teacher in San Antonio, Texas as a founding Teach For America corps member in the region. Inspired by her students’ boundless potential, Katie moved back to her hometown to help launch Teach For America-Greater Cleveland, where she led the program team.

Katie has served in a variety of leadership roles in the community, including as the Chair of the Rising Leaders Council of The Gathering Place, Board Member of B'nai B'rith Perlman Camp, Board Member of B'nai B'rith Beber Camp, and a Rekindle Fellow. Katie holds a BA with Distinction from the University of Michigan.
