Jeannemarie Hendershot is currently the COO at Public Prep, the nation's first network of single gender charter schools, operating 7 campuses in NYC serving over 2100 students in Grades PreK-8. Prior to joining Public Prep in November 2021, she spent 13 years at Uncommon Schools where she was founding DOO of Brownsville Collegiate, Associate Chief Operating Officer for Uncommon's Brooklyn middle schools for 6 years, and, the Senior Director of External Affairs at Uncommon's Home Office. During her time at Uncommon, Jeannemarie led the DOO Working Group, managed the regional operations team, and led professional development for operations teams and DOOs. Prior to Uncommon, Jeannemarie worked in the NYCDOE Office of Charter Schools and started her career in education teaching 6th grade ELA and Social Studies as a Teach For America corps member in Los Angeles. Jeannemarie is a native of Queens, NY and holds a Bachelor's degree from Loyola University Maryland and Masters degrees from Loyola Marymount University as well as a MPA from the Wagner School of Public Service at New York University.
