Emily Tucker Program Manager
Emily Tucker has spent nearly two decades working to improve outcomes for students, first in the classroom and then in organizations that support them. She began her career as a first grade teacher and grade level leader at DC Preparatory Academy in northeast Washington, DC, where she won the Results for Student Achievement Award for the highest overall student growth. From there she moved into policy, communications, and strategy at the Texas Early Childhood Education Coalition and the Texas Partnership for Out of School Time, and was an Education Pioneers Graduate School Fellow at 50CAN. At IDEA Public Schools, she managed the district’s $31 million Race to the Top grant. She then became Chief of Staff for the Academic Services Team. In that role she serves as a trusted advisor and confidante to the Chief Program Officer, as an essential bridge between the CPO and staff, and as the organizer of the team’s time around its top priorities and goals.
Emily holds a Master of Education from the University of Texas at Austin and a B.A. in Psychology, cum laude, from Middlebury College. Emily lives in Denver, CO with her husband, Aaron, their two kids and golden retriever. Emily enjoys exploring her adopted home state of Colorado with her family, reading, traveling, and baking.
