With over a decade of experience in public education, Dr. Delia Hong has dedicated her career to creating equitable educational experiences and ensuring that every decision is guided by what is best for students. Her leadership journey has taken her from the classroom to school and executive leadership, giving her a unique perspective on how strong organizations create the conditions for students to thrive.
Dr. Hong currently serves as Interim Chief Operating Officer at Brooklyn Laboratory Charter Schools, where she leads operational strategy to build the conditions that enable schools to deliver the best possible outcomes for students. Before joining Brooklyn LAB, she spent over a decade at Success Academy Charter Schools, where she led planning and execution across a 55-school network serving more than 23,000 students. Her work has centered on continuous improvement and organizational change, helping organizations strengthen execution and turn strategic priorities into lasting practice. As a Prosci-certified change management practitioner, she has led initiatives that increased post-pandemic student retention, generated more than $1 million in annual operational savings, and improved organizational effectiveness.
Dr. Hong earned her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California, where her research examined how teacher preparation programs can better prepare educators to serve an increasingly diverse student population through culturally relevant pedagogy. She also holds graduate degrees from Columbia University and Touro College. No matter the role, Dr. Hong's north star has remained the same: ensuring that every decision and every system ultimately serve what is best for students.
