DeAnna Bruce currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Movement Schools and also leads in a dual role as the Regional Superintendent for Movement North Charleston. With over 16 years of experience in education, she has built a reputation for strong instructional leadership and operational excellence. In her previous role as Managing Director of Schools, she supported principals across the network and led the implementation of key academic curricula, helping drive consistent improvements in student outcomes and school performance.

Before that, DeAnna was the Founding Principal of a 6th-12th grade campus with IDEA Public Schools, where she served for six years. During her tenure, the school achieved academic, operational, and cultural success and became known for developing strong leaders who advanced into regional and national positions. DeAnna began her career in education as a Teach For America corps member and later served as a Dean of Scholars with Uplift Education, where she deepened her passion for student culture and achievement.

DeAnna earned her B.A. in Mass Media Arts from Clark Atlanta University and her M.Ed. in Leadership from Southern Methodist University. She is also a graduate of the National Principal Academy Fellowship with Relay Graduate School of Education. DeAnna lives with her significant other and four children, and enjoys spending time with family and attending sporting events around the city.
