This school year, David serves as the Chief Operating Officer for KIPP Indy. Previously, David was the founding principal of KIPP Indy's first high school, KIPP Indy Legacy High. Before transitioning, David graduated Legacy's first class in the spring of 2023. David was the founding Director of Blended Learning at Moving Everest Charter School in Chicago, IL, and served as their Assistant Principal. Prior to moving to Chicago, David taught at YES Prep Brays Oaks and Fondren Middle School in Houston, Texas, as a Teach For America corps member. While working on Teach For America's Institute staff, he served as a Corps Member Advisor, Curriculum Specialist, and School Director. After moving to Chicago, David served as the Senior Director of Learning for By The Hand Club For Kids and helped the organization create a blended learning environment for all of their students in first through eighth grade. David has a B.S. in Political Science and Journalism from Texas Christian University, an M.A. in Youth and Young Adult Ministry from Andrews University, and an M.S. in Educational Leadership from Columbia University.
